If you decide to get a dental crown in Chagrin Falls, remember, it has to be made to the exact measurements of your tooth. The crown should also match in terms of appearance. Make sure it has the same tint that characterizes your other teeth. Chagrin Falls dentist Fotolia_7059513_XS.jpg

A dental crown is pretty much permanent. As such it has to be strong and sturdy right from the start.

In our clinic, the lab technicians spend a lot of time on making sure the crowns are dependable. They go about their work in a really professional way. You can be sure that the bits and pieces we stick on your teeth will give you value for money I can't ask for more than that in my profession — that a porcelain crown lasts a long time, enhances your looks and performs just like one of your real teeth.

However, you should understand a permanent dental crown does not go in straight away. First, you have to wait for a while as we make your permanent crown.

The affected tooth also needs some work. We need to make it ready to make way for the porcelain crown. Some of the natural part of your tooth will have to be filed down to make way for your crown. Of course, you will want to be using your teeth and be able to put on your best smile. You can wear a temporary crown while we work on the permanent one.

Here in my Chagrin Falls dental office, the kind of temporary crown we give you is extremely tough. In fact, it could last for up to one month. While you wait with this temporary crown, we will be making the permanent one. The makeshift crown, though, must be soft enough to be pulled out. You should not have a temporary that is set too well. After all, we would have a hard time getting it out.

To make your crown, first I make an impression of the prepped tooth and the tooth that is opposite also. By doing this, you can still dig into the great foods that you do.

It allows us to make perfectly evened teeth. This is to give the freedom to chew as you wish. We then take the mold and fill it with the substance we use to make the crown. This is to give your temporary crown a snug fit. Then, it is time for attaching the temp with a kind of dental cement that is not permanent but still quite strong.

The temp crown will be strong, you don't have to worry. But still, it is better if you avoid chewing hard stuff, such as caramels, and ice. You shouldn't even be chewing carrots. Just for the time while my technician does his thing in the lab. You are welcome at my office any time.
